Here's Yet Another page with some ideas on setting up a new FreeBSD system.  I'm not sure what version it is for, although the copyright date puts it last updated about 5 years ago (still 4.x?).; But there's some interesting ideas in there nonetheless, including how to mount /tmp on /swap, and some ideas for how to make the console more usable.
