New Version of Xandros
Xandros 4 was just announced. Xandros is my favorite Linux distro. I was amazed at just how easily it installed and, more importantly, integrated into my Windows network. It really could be my mother's Linux. There isn't an "Open Circulation" version 4 yet. They usually wait a bit before releasing the free version. You can download the OC v3 here though. I highly recommend this distro.

Track with co.mments Xandros 4 comes with mandatory product activation in order to unlock the full functionality of the product. If you need to re-install, you will need to contact Xandros Support again for a new activation code.

Posted by: Jonathan Arnold on June 29, 2006 08:21 AMI am using Xandros version 4 right now as I speak. Its nice. I am awaiting for the box to arrive with the activation code so I can activate and register this OS, then I will be able to install the Applications disc and install the rest of the programs. Prior to registration, you can still use the OS in a limited way. You get the Firefox Browser, Thunderbird email, and many other programs. You still have to pay to download so you can begin using at once. Like they said, there is no free OC version yet. Wonder how the Debian people feel about that?
Other than that, its a real nice looking system, and so far, everything works. No broken packages yet that I can find. Even my printer is working with this version! So far, I am recomending this OS. We'll see how the rest of it works out once its registered and I can install the rest of it. All for now. Sal Manella
