The Complete FreeBSD

The book that got me all fired up about FreeBSD has been released under a Creative Commons license - yeah! It has the best explanation for the boot process ever! I was proud to help out with the 4th (and most recent) print edition, even getting a mention in the forward and a free copy of the book. I'm looking forward to helping out with the online version now. Download it and have a read!

thanks for the link! i have the printed copy but it's nice to have an online copy just in case. that book got me fired up about FreeBSD, too. i love it! i was using linux for 7 years before making the switch. i'm finding that i still learn something new about FreeBSD each day.

i'm installing 6.1 beta 4 on one of my work machines as i'm typing this message. :-)

Excellent! That's what I started this blog for - to jot down interesting stuff as I learn it. I've been working with FreeBSD for 5 years or more and I still find out cool stuff!
